Election!

As  you may have noticed, I don't post much; only on special occasions, or when I feel like it. Today is obviously an important day to me, as I have posted. Later today I will be posting periodically, giving you live election coverage (Although the TV works better), but for now, I want to do one thing: Give my support to Barack Hussein Obama II. If you disagree with me, I would advise you to stay away from my blog between the hours of 11:00 and about 2:00, by which time we will have discovered who has won the election.

Why I haven't written in a while

Well, you might have noticed that I haven't written in a while. The reason for this is that I have been preoccupied by Myst, a computer game that is hard to get away from. Therefore, I haven't found the time to post. However, I am now on vacation (At Edisto Island, SC.), so I decided to post some.
Tomorrow I'm going to Charleston, a wonderful, richly heritaged town with many sights to see, such as an aquarium, great food, and a cheap hotel with a good pool. I'll stay there for 3 nights before returning to my hometown, where I will go back to Myst.

Trivia

I like useless information. Trivia, factoids; call it what you will; I enjoy it. here, for your enjoyment, are factoids I have collected over the years.
  • Sugar doesn't make you hyperactive, it just gives you energy that you can use to be hyperactive.
  • Nintendo was originally a playing card company.
  • Blondie was originally called Angel and the Snakes.
  • Squirrels can run faster on trees than on the ground, and do not contract the rabies virus.
  • The best selling computer game is the Sims, with its sequel, the Sims 2, coming in 3rd.
  • The first computer, ENIAC, took up a city block. Now, a computer chip 1/2 inches square holds the same amount.
I hope  you enjoyed my trivia!

My New House

I live in a nice house. My mom recently moved into it, and I enjoy it greatly, as it means I have room to run around with my various dogs, much better than Mom's old apartment. the house is called Nutwood (Endearingly called the Nuthouse), and was previously lived in by a nutcase, who didn't take care of it. This means that, when we moved into it, it had a whole host of problems. Here I have them organized into a handy list!

  1. Evil vine from Heck eating the house

  2. Kitchen barely big enough to hold a stove

  3. Dining room painted to look like a Byzantine whorehouse

  4. Water leaking into the basement

  5. Rose vine entwined around the safety railing

  6. LIVE EXPOSED WIRES in the attic

  7. Everything else

However, all of these things can be fixed with time. Besides, the house is great!

Here's a picture of it.(By the way, did I mention that it's painted a sickly shade of Mint Green?)

Stop Motion

I have taken an interest in stop motion, a sort of animation made by moving objects very small amounts, and taking pictures of them. A lot of times they include Legos, as mine usually do. It's very time-consuming, but not actually as boring as it sounds. I have included a video I made about what happens if you don't look both ways before you cross the street.

Music and dancing

Why do people dance? Why do we listen to music? This is a question I have asked myself for years.  Recently, however, I found an article on dancing and the neurological implications in Scientific American, one of my favorite publications.(Second only to Muse)
Anyway, the article was about how dancing affects the brain. I was very interested to learn about a question that has puzzled me for a long time. I read it the whole way through, and discovered that, though scientists have not found irrefutable evidence for anything, a reasonable-sounding hypothesis was put forth; that dance evolved as a way of communicating through movement and sight. Music might have evolved alongside this, as sounds added to the motions. This is all very similar to the way bees communicate where flowers are.
I hope you have been entertained, or at least informed.
